About the role

We're looking for a frontend engineer to design, build, and ship the user-facing side of what we build across web and mobile. You'll own features end to end on the client, from the component and the interaction to performance and accessibility, working in React on the web and React Native on mobile.

You'll work closely with design and product, and help shape the component library and design system the rest of the frontend builds on. Our products are built with AI at their core and ship fast, so you'll ship to production frequently and own the experience people actually touch.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain web applications in React

  • Build and maintain mobile applications in React Native

  • Build responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces

  • Build and evolve a shared component library and design system, reusing logic and components across web and mobile where it makes sense

  • Turn designs into polished, production-ready interfaces

  • Integrate with backend services and APIs (REST and GraphQL), handling state, data, and error cases on the client

  • Own client-side features end to end, from implementation through release and iteration

  • Keep the frontend reliable, fast, and maintainable across web and mobile

  • Contribute to testing, CI/CD, and deployment for the frontend

  • Shape the architecture and conventions of the client-side stack

Who you are

You are an experienced frontend engineer who can take a feature from a design and a loose spec through to a polished, shipped interface, largely independently. You care deeply about product quality and the details of the user experience.

You have clear opinions about component design, state, and performance, and you think about how a choice on one screen affects the rest of the app. You care as much about accessibility and the small interactions as about getting the feature working.

You value feedback, continuous learning, and clear communication, and you're comfortable challenging existing approaches when you can back your ideas with reasoning and evidence.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional frontend experience

  • Deep experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including advanced, type-safe patterns

  • Production experience building web applications with React and mobile applications with React Native

  • Proven ability to build responsive, accessible (WCAG), and performant user interfaces

  • Experience profiling and optimizing frontend performance (rendering, bundle size, load times)

  • Deep understanding of state management and data-fetching / server-state patterns (e.g. TanStack Query)

  • Experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs

  • Experience building and maintaining a component library or design system

  • Experience shaping frontend architecture and setting patterns others build on

  • Proven ability to own and deliver complex client-side features end to end in production

Nice-to-have skills

  • Experience with animation and motion (Reanimated, Framer Motion, or similar)

  • Experience with monorepos and modern build tooling (Turborepo, Nx, or Vite)

  • Server-side rendering, streaming, or React Server Components (Next.js, Remix, or similar)

  • Native mobile development (Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android)

  • Offline-first, sync-heavy, or real-time collaborative applications (CRDTs, WebSockets, WebRTC)

  • Shipping and operating mobile apps in the App Store and Play Store (push notifications, background tasks)

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and design-to-code workflows
